小包 is 2 Months

Image
The days passed slowly but the time fly past, xiaobao has turned 2 months old yesterday.  I've been feeling really grateful that we were blessed with a lot of kindness from people around us, and that xiaobao is growing healthily day by day, although there are definitely both good and bad days.  When you have a baby in the house time seems to play a greater significance relatively as you watch how much transformation the newborn undergoes within a few weeks. Suddenly you realized that the baby has unlock new skills: her first social smile; her first 'ah-ah' and a 'ohh-ohh' sound; the gradual change in her attention span and facial expressions with each passing day. I have stored tons of photos in my phone already after merely 2 short months because you know that all these moments will be gone forever as she learns new things everyday at an increasing speed. Alas, is this what becoming a parent is like? Probably so.  Parenting journey in the past month (real parenting...

Baby J.

So it's been 7 weeks since we welcomed the arrival of our latest family member - bb Jaelyn Seah. The delivery day felt like an eternity away somehow. Us making our way to Mt A. hospital at 3+ am  with some doubt over what felt like regular contractions; putting on drips/epidural and waiting for active labour stage; gynea coming in to the deliver suite to get ready swiftly; followed by rounds of '1 - 2 - PUSH' with the assistance of 2 nurses. At last, we heard our baby's first cry and met her face to face after 9 months at 1:52pm on 13 Nov 2021.  Plain as all these may sounds now, it was a really unique experience. Just think about it, pushing a new life out from your body through the birth canal/vagina? Holyyyy. But again everything happened so fast to really react to it. I use to ponder over my first reaction when we meet our bb, and I never had an answer. Turns out it was a very overwhelming moment. I was in all tears, of joy and relief, and mostly I was glad it's...

WEEK 39 - XIAOBAO

👨👂 Here we are. Final countdown to xiaobao's arrival after close to 10 months. Becoming prego since Feb has made 2021 the year of expecting. I couldn't recall much things that aren't revolving around this. Oh well. It is pretty life changing after all, and only will be more so in time to come? A common question I get a lot lately if if I am ready. I guess it's always a case of 'nobody is ever ready'. Materially we think we are, tapping on the baby preparation and hospital packing list from experienced mamas around us, received abundance of baby item blessings, went through two rounds of taobao hauls and festive sales for the big item purchases.  Mentally,ah, I will probably only truly understand what's waiting for me ahead and try to adapt when the time comes. Its hard to imagine everything, a new fragile baby in arms, feeding milk off my breast, trying to differentiate her needs with each cry, and the list goes on... 👪💣 In fact, I may be jumping the que...

WEEK 32

Eight months into preggo life; Eight (or less) weeks to go. Current mood: Contented. Physical state: Good and trying to c-exist with flabby thighs. Mental wellness: Positive.  Here we are, final countdown before bb Jaelyn make her grand entrance to our life. 8 months might sound like a long time to make the necessary preparations but I guess things are only real when bb is physically with us. Maybe it will be like having Pudding joining us last Oct, but hundred times more complicated with a baby this round. No doubt that become parents would be the steepest learning curve we got to get around with, not to mention the sleep deprivation, bodily mess and new responsibilities we have to take on. Thankfully we are not in it without help, we have received many tips and blessings from SIL and chua along the way, we will be having a confinement nanny and domestic helper with us when bb is here, and also to tap on MIL's help down the road when I return to work. So who knows, may not be as d...

Birthday retreat 2.5

Bao turns 36!  Taking chance of the Hari Raya Haji PH, we booked 2 nights of staycation with W hotel Sentosa and M Social Hotel for the occasion. Perhaps the last 二人世界 we enjoy before xiaobao pops out in Nov.     Really enjoyed ourselves at W hotel Sentosa & we were blessed with a sunny weather for the stay to spend the afternoon by the poolside with our Avocado float, & the 23 weeks baby bump teheh. Been feeling a lot better these days, away from the indigestion I felt at the start of 2nd trimester, except that the tummy has start to itch from the constant growing stretch. But a lil itchiness aint stopping me from enjoying the stayca so no complains.  We got the $530 Klook deal for the Wonderful room which also comes with $75 dinner credit and breakfast. I thought the room interior look a little old fashion initially but it turns out to be, well, pretty romantic actually. Not to mention it's also very spacious for couples. The food standard @ the hotel ...

Hello there;

Here I am, sitting on a gym ball, coming back to the good o' blog.  Why? Cos I finally feeling in the right spirit, both physically and mentally to recount and pen down some thoughts. Thoughts on, yes, a new member joining our lil family coming Nov. Since entering adulthood or even marriage I was never a strong advocate to have kids. Reasons typically being those you and I have all read in the news or on social media. Lost of personal freedom, cost of child upbringing, and also partially personally not quite/never ready to give birth to a new life which will be a long time responsibility, if not for the rest of our life. Maybe it was the long period of holed up at home since the pandemic, the lost of travelling opportunities, and other unknown factors. We decide to let nature take it's course this year, and well, nature seized the opportunity and responded fast enough indeed. Aha.  I don't think I am ready at week 15 now, nor will I ever admit that I am ready confidently. B...

A moment in time.

 I wonder why do my posts get less frequent with each year. Was it really a case of busy adulting? But how do I justify for all the time I spent idling. Or is idle a form of resting as I switch in and out from work daily. Why is it that as a teen then I had so much inner thoughts to be expressed in words daily? Where did all these self thought goes to now? Do I engage in much less self reflection these days, because time marches forward anyway.  Unlike usual, I didn't have a new year resolution post this year. I simply told myself that I could probably just carry forward the 2020 resolutions and they would still largely apply. Well, on the night of cny eve now, I suppose it's still not too late to run through the past year yet. Good things that I could recount that happened in 2020; - Watched and enjoyed some good anime/animation/movies including demon slayer, inuyasha, haikyu,Farewell my concubine, the truman show, V for Vendetta, Casr away, Catch me if you can, Mob pyscho, H...
