The New Chapter - Mrs Seah.

Image
With the ' Bride-to-be ' post still laying in my draft, I am now hitched and promoted to becoming a wife. It sounded unthinkable to many, with my friends' initial reactions being: WHAT / WHY / ARE YOU SURE? Definitely not surprising, it's been just a year since we started dating and I'm still in my final year of degree studies. Perhaps I myself sometimes wonder if everything is truly real or it this all part of a dream. What has been happening is way beyond my wildest prediction of the 23 year old me isn't it? There could have been a million other ways to live our lives, and here's mine, married gratefully to the man I feel comfortable and safe to be with at a really young age, by the modern social norm at least.    I believe there are always two sides to a coin and there is a need to strike a balance for everything in life, so is marriage. Marrying young now probably comes with a built-in support system for me to pass through my...

Boo

I spent all my life seeking for love and attention from another person, but I never truly felt secured. I believe in only myself. I was 9, I've seen and lived through my mum's countless arguments with other man, just so we could save on the rents. I was 17, I was told that my mum has no choice but to settle for my stepfather because she has a kid with her. I was 19, I wish to be an independent person that can clear my own mess, settle my bills, and never have to ask for money from others. I am 23, and getting married on the coming Saturday. The idea of marrying sounds great with the right person, but I still want to be perfectly able to take care of myself. Occasionally I may wish to be pampered with gift, but to ask for anything from anyone should never be the case. And this upsets my mum, perhaps she see her young self in me -  a stubborn young lady. But I don't like the idea of myself being subordinate or dependent and needy. Perhaps she is worried that I'm fa...

Oh hai November

Here comes my favourite month of the year again, and perhaps this year a little even more special than the rest. I think my frequency of posting has dropped this year as a whole, and now that there are so much things to update about in my mind. Where should I begin then.  My last day of school has officially come to an end yesterday for the semester, though with an outstanding finals waiting for me still next Saturday. It has been a special semester as I move onto the fourth and final year, especially with the 10 days spent on a floating village in Cambodia for my field investigation module. If the previous semesters were like short 2.4km Napfa, then Y4S1 I would say, it's like running a long marathon, with deadline every other weeks starting from as early as second week till the very last. I wonder which system I prefer, and which is more beneficial for us as learners.  Maybe I want to focus a little more on the Cambodia trip for now, for the sake that I decide to lo...

To my very last boyfriend,

" The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more,  that plants the fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds.  That’s what I hope to give you forever ." — The Notebook   I always knew penning down these thoughts is gonna be difficult, and I was never so right. There are so much I want to type into this space, every thing about you, all the heartfelt feelings you have been giving me, all the memories we have shared in the past one year. Never have I imagined I will be settling down with someone this early, and not to mention this fast.  It was in July when I first met you, and I didn't pay much attention to you despite seeing you frequently at Obar as the 'regulars', was guessing y'all were a bunch of guys who love to come by and chill together. ( To which I still can't believe it at times that you started coming because Lim told you that 'there is a girl might be your type here', and hence your...

Hola moolah!

Yay hello blogger! I'm in a mood for a short post tonight after Pole dance. ( To which I have yet to share much on this I guess despite been learning it since late 2014, always felt that I'm not good enough to speak about my experience yet cause it felt like I didn't achieve much, so another time maybe when I feel more confident to share a video or two. ) Anyway gonna do a self reflection on money and spending tonight, the topic sparked off as I was on the train back with a pole dance friend and she was mentioning that she pays $160 for her gym membership monthly and I thought of how am I going to manage my finance when I start to work officially in a year's time. Not too early to start planning isn't it?  Just a brief rewind back in time I was never disciplined when it comes to money matters. I was never able to save up almost all my life, even till today. During the primary school days I secretly scooped out all the coins my mum has been putting into the ...

Under the sea - Tioman

Image
After hiatus for over a month, I'm back with new experiences to share on my virgin experience breathing underwater from 18m below the sea! Been quite a rush journey as Lnr & I embarked on our Third trip together to Tioman the very morning after I've ended my internship, concurrent with Lnr's end of his first post-graduate job a day before.  It has been a whole new encounter underwater for me, a amusing albeit weary one. We took a 4 hours Coach from Flyers @ 630am and reached the Tg Gomek ferry terminal, followed by a 2 hours ferry to Tioman. Was greeted by the clear seawater upon reaching our lil Kampong for the next 5D4N, feeling rather fortunate to be able to see such cloudless seawater again. Our Kampong happens to be a much less developed one compared to the Dive resort Lnr went previously, there was no tourist souvenir shop at all in sight, just villagers and some Caucasians walking along the only road available. In fact we find it a lil difficult to believe t...

Hello Junting,

Yay reflection time of the month again.  It has been a fruitful month, from the initial struggle to getting the hang of things in the organization, most of the time people commented that I must been given a great opportunity to learn a lot given that the Marketing exec left the organization on my second day of internship and I was left floating around with no mentor for a month before the new replacement came in on Thursday. Fair enough that I was given the freedom to come up with my own marketing campaign creatives, deciding the marketing mechanisms and the set up of the event booth, together with some soft skills mostly on liaising with different parties to make sure things piece up together nicely at the end of the day, or like what Jw always does,  tying loose ends.   A month into marketing, I guess I don't detest the nature of a marketing career but I definitely wish that it's for a better cause personally, something that I believe in instead of promoting a ...
