Dear NUS part of me,

Image
Time check: Year 4 Sem 2 Week 11. With two more weeks of undergraduate life left, I guess it's about time for me to bid goodbye to this 'Nus' part of me. The past four years has been, uh, a mixture of every lil human emotions. From the 19 year old me filled with curiosity and anticipation to the brand new 'university life' with all the fascinating tales from hearsay, to the 23 years me now who had led pretty much a mediocre student life the past four years.And along this timeline, choices were made, paths were chosen, with each and every decisions inevitably intertwining, (Though I'm still undecided between these two, is life is a destiny or free will?) I am where I am now today.  In the past four years, I met a bunch of new people and some of which names I couldn't recall any longer except that their faces have become strangely familiar. That they have once crossed path with me at one stage of my university life. I remember first stepping into Nus a...

Sleepless nights.

It's strange how I lose the ability to sleep on some nights, and I start to get over worrying over everything in life. And slowly I get lost in all these thoughts and start to question everything about myself. I think this could possibly be a very common woe - feeling lost when you are jobless as fuck after three whole months of applications and you start to question your self worth. You start to wonder if this is what you are made up of, unworthy and zero value to the economy productivity, the capitalist society, or whatever it is out there.  You know there are certain things you can sugarcoat yourself with for self consolation, but you just can't get rid of that worthless feeling sometimes. And occasionally it makes me feel horrible that Lnr is the sole breadwinner in the house and his work has been rather rough and tough lately and there is nothing I could offer. Like I wish I could say things like ' let's look for something else if your job is too stressful I can s...

Part 2. Home inspirations :)

Stepped into Nus today feeling a little nostalgia, and absurd that I am three weeks away from my last day of school. Here goes by four (great) years. It's been four years since I first come to the Central Forum for Arts Camp and now here I am, bidding my last few goodbyes.  Oh well, let's leave this piece of university reflection to some other time before I digress too much. Gonna continue with our sweet 92 sqm today by gathering some general art directions for our nest from Pinterest. :) Excited much.  Renovation mantra : Scanidavian, Minimalist Palatte: White, Grey, Wood, Greenery,  Living room Basic idea behind this is to have a bright, cozy living area with a touch of greenery. Shouldn't be too difficult to achieve this in general because there is minimum renovation required. It's gonna be mostly furnishing based ( nice soft tone sofa, wood Tv console, coffee table, shelves and pretty photos frames, bean bags, carpet track lights and a solid wood ...

Part 1. Hello 92sqm!

It's about time that I should update about my new found social identity as a wife. :') And here is probably the biggest news of the year, that we are buying a resale flat  near Buangkok! It's 4 bustops away from Lnr's place and 5 more stops to le mum. Very soon we will have a cosy lil nest of our own, albeit at the same time it is going to be a significant life commitment, becoming house slaves for the next 25 years maybe? Although of cause who knows maybe we will 飞黄腾达  as well Heheh. Life's full of surprises. Just like how I never expected to get hitched at my sweet and youthful twenty third woohooo~   As everything in life accumulates, we have come a long way too before reaching our final decision of purchasing the resale flat. Prior to this, we have been outbid twice last year for the Sales of Balance Flats ( SBF, Not widely known, simply put they are unsold units / gave up by bidders during Build to order exercises and got bundled up by HDB for sale agai...

Enchanted rings;

Today marks the second monniversary of my wedlock with Lnr, and I thought that it would be great to talk a little about the origins of our rings. It was quite an unconventional journey given that we sealed the deal for our Wedding bands before the Proposal ring was even sourced. Well again, we have been kinda uncustomary all along anyway. Everything begun pretty much the Singaporean way when the issue of BTO application was brought up between us, as early as Feb, that was like three months into dating each other and I had no idea where this bold idea came from. Sometimes I wonder that apart from Lnr's age (hence financial capability) that played a dominant role, what magic did Lnr cast such that I got the 'hey he must be the one' message back then. Anyway, we applied our first flat together in May (though we were outbid by Aug) and began our ring hunt since then. Having said that, the idea of proposal was no longer a secret or when but how as we were looking around...
