Part 2. Home inspirations :)

Stepped into Nus today feeling a little nostalgia, and absurd that I am three weeks away from my last day of school. Here goes by four (great) years. It's been four years since I first come to the Central Forum for Arts Camp and now here I am, bidding my last few goodbyes.

Oh well, let's leave this piece of university reflection to some other time before I digress too much. Gonna continue with our sweet 92 sqm today by gathering some general art directions for our nest from Pinterest. :) Excited much.

Renovation mantra: Scanidavian, Minimalist
Palatte: White, Grey, Wood, Greenery,

Living room

Basic idea behind this is to have a bright, cozy living area with a touch of greenery. Shouldn't be too difficult to achieve this in general because there is minimum renovation required. It's gonna be mostly furnishing based ( nice soft tone sofa, wood Tv console, coffee table, shelves and pretty photos frames, bean bags, carpet track lights and a solid wood ceiling fan ) Gonna add a raised platform beside the drop down window for the bean bags and our afternoon tea sessions Wootz ( Fuck Yeah drop down windows! thou I have mentioned this alr ) Still undecided between real and fake flower pots but perhaps a mixture of both Teehee. Wonder if our lil living area can pull off a gigantic palm plant hmm. Also have to think of a way to incorporate a space for my fish-tank ( gonna upgrade their home too huehue ) In general living area is looking good except that we are not going for parquet flooring and will be keeping the current homogeneous tiles instead. Probably will affect the aesthetic values a little but $$$~ & the current one ain't that bad after all.

Bedroom

Bedroom will continue to go for the basic bitch feel, and in fact the minimal the better. Gonna have quite a bit of work here, and also gonna cost us a bomb to hack away the current divider, and possibly the built-in wardrobe and bed frame. Major revamp will take place by building a storage platform bed Woohoo! And remake the wardrobe ( feeling a lil cheated how several real estate agents assured us that we can easily change the lamination at a fraction of the remaking cost when in reality, changing lamination costs almost as much as redo-ing the entire wardrobe. But well, only have ourselves to blame for not double-checking on our own. ) Moving on if we manage to change the current layout, I might be able to squeeze in a simple vanity table in the room Tehee,

Bathroom

This again is a very crucial part in the house! - Our en-suite toilet because I will spend quite a fair bit of time daily shitting inside and bathing with Lnr kekeke. Again, major revamp is needed here because we are likely going to hack/overlay the floor and tiles ( although I have decide on the specific tiles to change to but likely it won't go too far from white, grey, teal / marble tiles? Marble sounds really classy but again feel like there are some risks if it didn't turn out well. Right more research is needed on this. ) Previously Lnr and I are contemplating to ship the all the sanitary hardware (toilet bowl + basin + tap + shower head ) from Taobao (Tb for short from now because it will appear crazily lot in the following renovation posts ), after considering that it's too much trouble should there be any leakage ( which seems like there are a lot on renotalk ) We decide to only get the basin from Tb ( easy installation and dismantle if things go haywire ), toilet bowl in Singapore ( Specification and warranty reasons ) and taps + shower head from Germany ( excellent quality and cheaper there) because Lnr is heading over for work trip next week LOL. We love globalization Hahahah~

That's about it! Wont have much room to play around for kitchen 'cause we are likely to be keeping the original cabinet.... Unless ofcause the above mentioned renovation miraculously did not cost us a bomb and we have extra budget to make over the kitchen. But for now I think our bank would have gone way busted by then. :')

Yay feeling happy just by looking at the pictures but again I got reminded that 'there is no such thing as a cheap and beautiful home, beautiful home means its definitely an expensive one'. As much as we are trying to Tb a million things possible and cutting cost here and there, it's still gonna cost a bombbbb ):

And this reminds me that I have yet to secure a job although I'm graduating in a month? Uh...
Bye.
