Recollections.

The first month of 2020 is ending quickly and quietly, with some fear and and speculations arising from the novel coronavirus in the air. In this ever evolving new media world, I find it increasingly difficult to stay clear minded and  not be swayed by a myriad of unverified sources. But I guess this is the world we are living in, so adapt and overcome? Anyway, it's a rare weekday night that I am home alone for Jiawei is down for night duties at work. So, self reflection time. Yay?  Quick review of the goals set in early Jan.  1. Write a journal entry everyday - 17/29 days 2. Practise the pole moves learnt everyday - Yes for most days.  3. January has knocked on the door while I was still preparing send off 2019 proper. I keep feeling this uneasiness that each day is passing without me giving the new year a reflective thought yet. So here it is, a short and sweet one written on a Wednesday night, unlike most of my posts that was typed out during the quiet late night on weekends. Taking the following helpful tips from The Woke Salaryman : Here is what I  want to put in effort conscious to self-improve: 1. Write a journal entry everyday, be it simply daily log, or a sketch and doodle. Reward self with a portable photo printer if I have done a good job for the next 3 months.  2. Practise the pole moves learnt each week every day thrice to familiarise. Take videos to track improvements. Reward self with a new set of pole wear after mastering Jayne butterfly's signature air walk move.  3. Reduce body fat percentage to have a flat tummy through chewing food slower, exercise everyday and prepa...

5 stages of short hair cut decision making and experience: 1 Being fickle for three months on whether or not to chop the (already short) hair even shorter. 2 Finally decided that it's just hair. There could only be 2 outcomes to it. It's either good and I like it or it's bad but it will grow back eventually.  3 Feeling vulnerable and nervous as the hairstylist trims off more than half of my head without any signs of hesitation. 4 Hair looked really out of shape and fuzzy but was eventually saved by magic hands and hair spray. 5 Accepted the new look and starting to grow more comfortable in it. NTS to learn how to style short hair from now on.

After staying right next to the equator for almost 2 decades, it felt like I have just truly experienced the real summer times during our 10 days trip to Japan in early Aug when the heat spell strike. Just 'Woah', the weather was so humid and muggy and clammy and roasting everyday except when we were high up on Mount Fuji.   Grumblings on the blazing sun aside, it was a very summer-ish trip. It was a collation of seasonal fruits (Yamanashi peach, Kyoho grapes and Yubari Melon! Wheww fruits that we couldn't bear to splurge on in Singapore but half priced in Japan), Sunflower fields, Ice coffees and Summer Matsuri with fireworks~ Pretty much the kind of Japanese summer I envisioned before the trip, except that I conveniently forget to include the heat that was about to come at our faces, and every pores of our skin.     Going back to Toyko reminds me of the first overseas trip Lnr brought me to during our very initial courtship hurhur. 4 years down, we...
