Was browsing through my past posts as usual and came across (probably) the biggest irony ever from my first post-A level post back then in 2012, hahahahah, did I ever said that I will never touch geography ever? HAHAHAHA. Lesson learnt: don't be so certain about something too early.

Bali- a blend of beach, mountain & money changer scam.

Gotta find the momentum to blog about our Bali trip before I procrastinate too long. I popped the idea earlier in Feb as a suggestion for Valentine's initially, and we got it finalized bout two week prior to the trip. Was xiao pleasantly surprised that it was made into reality :') As much as I promised to keep up with the upcoming submissions immediately after the trip, guess what happened was that I still had some mad last minute rush last week, but it's all over for now. Never been to Bali before this and I guess I always have this very romantized and magical feeling about Bali islands, perhaps largely accounted by the fanciful ads that portray them as one~ So moment of truth, Yes no crystal clear beach water like Krabi or Pattaya, no cheap clothes like Buangkok, but I guess Bali has its own charm, though we didn't go the the rich heritage sites during the trip, and spend more than half of the time in our own worlds at the private resort, but I truly enjoyed  t...

Feeling like I have been detached from the world, and this feeling probably began as early as I moved out from Sheares almost a year back. Guess everything is about finding the balance in life, too much of anything does no good. Been trying to squeeze time out to blog and to reflect about my life recently, but time is just never on my side. Nonetheless I'm back to this familiar place while the 3000 words research proposal is going to write on its own. As I was submitting my NUS transcript together with my internship application the other day, I started wondering how did I fare personally the past three years, what have I done badly for? What I regretted choosing? What I enjoyed most? If given another chance, how would I have reset the game? Today I received a JTC job opening mail from the department, and under requirement it states 'good honours degree in Real Estate, Economics, Geography and Urban Planning', and I wonder what have I done in Nus in paving my road, or d...

Hello,

Been really wanted to blog about everything about us, but somehow it still feels so surreal at times, too good to be true, that I got worried if I am painting a overly flowery picture. After all, it's just been four months, that's too short a period to make much credible judgements. Though I really do wish what I see from you everyday is not just a fallacy.  It's been four truly amazing months, and I can't appreciate you enough every day. And I hope that I will constantly remind myself to never stop showing my appreciation, and never take you for granted. I hope that I will remember all the heartwarming things you have done for me, and those will be my source of joy everyday. There are so much to list out, just to name a few, thank you always pulling me to the inner side of the road; thank you for never fail to send me home every single time thus far, with or without car; thank you for always opening the car's door for me; thank you for always asking what do I ...
Do you realize that when you marry your Prince or Princess charming, you inherited the king, the queen, and the whole court? And that can be really tricky. The thought of marriage being the joint of two entire families gives me the most paranoid feeling ever. And I guess in-laws do play a significant role in how the marriage goes. In that case all I foresee is a continual drain and irritation in time to come looking at the rate of things are going at now. If I don't calm down and think of more sensible ways in dealing with it, it's probably gonna be disastrous. While the very first thought that come to my mind is then to not get married at all and get entangled in all these problems, that might deem as avoidance and a coward act. Guess I need to learn to face the fear and think of how to go about doing it instead of avoiding, to be fair to whom I truly adores. Oh well, and that's probably the toughest issue I had to face in life thus far. Oh junting welcome to adulthoo...

Grumpy thoughts on singles, marriage and kids.

Was browsing through a list of state policies and Family Reports today as one of the modules was touching on it this week. After looking at the history of  policy makings and amendments the state made over the last 50 years, I can't help but to wonder why despite tremendous efforts by the state, billions of dollars thrown into every aspects of life, singles are still delaying marriage, couples are delaying child births in general. All these seems to imply that because the state isn't addressing to the root causes of low TFR and marriage. Yes it might sounds like a cradle to grave approach in alleviating the financial cost of raising a child throughout different life phases From Baby bonus to Medisave for accouchement to Childcare subsidies to Primary one registration priorities to Child Development Account to all sorts of Tax rebates and Paid leave under Marriage & Parenthood package. The Total Fertility Rate isn't showing the least effort to improve.   Then perhap...
