碎碎念

Image
Wide awake, due to (over) sufficient of sleep on the average of twelves hours since the start of the week. To sleep is such a blessing, but not waking up ever again is not. The other day I was telling tan how I think becoming a tree is a nice idea after I die, and I asked how about him, he responded with 'I think it's better to not die.' Whilst I'm very sure he meant nothing philosophical behind his answer but I thought of it as a good motto to live up to. That it's to live a best life now, and that brings us back to living in the moment . Did not feel the need to blog lately because nothing significant happened, or any particular lessons I have learnt. Life has been like a routine, studying at times, watching Adventure times at other times, sleep during the remaining time. For a moment it seems like I have found the balance in life, though not yet a definite purpose. Short term goal in my little universe now is to secure an internship for the upcoming holiday,...

Krabi Reflection

Image
With no Mid terms ahead, and my brother's stay in Singapore, we went over to Krabi for a short four days vacation together with my good friend wwt. The heat was less intense than my imagination, partially thankful for the strong Sunblock wwt offered for facial use, which I spammed mercilessly every hour or another. :) It was four days of waking up early to catch the day tours, of walking under the scotching sun, or walking along the same street down every night in the little coastal town in Southern Thailand. We spent the rest of the first day walking along the ao nang beach , near to where we live, booking tours for the following days, with the entire coastal line catered solely for tourists, selling the same handicrafts and clothes in every other stall, competing fiercely with one another, bargaining for the cheapest price options. And I wonder who is the ultimate winner here, did the tourists truly bargained for a good deal for themselves after cutting the price by a 100 b...

Your valentine.

Image
Valentine's day. 14 Feb, annually. Flowers, chocolates, hearts and romance, is that all Valentine's day is about? Well, maybe not. Interesting origin, a little violent, a little tragic. Story of a Roman priest who was prosecuted for performing marriage ceremonies for the young couples back then. And somehow as years passed, it became a day for love birdies to show their love for each other, and to everyone around them. Ridiculously priced roses, random 'valentine's special menus, packages, promotions. With the enormous promotion efforts done by the capitalists, the day has become a widely celebrated festive for many today. And there we were at the LillPutt indoor minigolf at big splash today, enjoying the 1-for-1 February deal. Wasn't packed, but one might probably find it difficult to play for more than an hour there. At least one take away is that my accuracy isn't that bad after all, contrary to what I used to think. :') In all honesty, I ...

balance report

I started 2015 being really poor, with a few dollars left in both accounts. Resulted from no tuitions in holiday and random expenditures, together with poor finance planning. And that's when I started looking furiously for tuition assignments. And after one months of barely buying anything at all, just as I thought I could get the very first tuition fees, I was informed that I will get it two weeks later. Which could be directly translated into: welcome to being poor for 14 more days. Which is a bad timing to be stuck with this since there is a number of events coming up. Oh no. ): I will not exaggerate my predicament but living with a total bank balance of $2.58 cents at the age of 21 isn't anything sweet. Though again it's through times like this that I learn a little. Weighing the necessities and wants. Life's ain't that bad, at least when I went really broke to the extent of not having money for transportation to give tuitions there are people around me who of...

soccer

Image
Like everything else, soccer has come to an end too. Blatant as the truth is, it wasn't a great pleasure to take on the captaincy, even though I did indeed learn a few valuable lessons from it. But in all honesty, I'm so fucking glad it's over now. It was my first leadership role, and I'm more than happy that it has come to an end now, humans just have endless ability to disappoint others. It was a disheartening journey, when people do not reply in the chat for attendance, when people drop last minute text coming up with all sorts of reasons and do not turn up, and there will always be people who fall sick just so coincidentally an hour before training, how strange. The attendance gets so bad throughout that I felt like I have cancelled almost half of the training when the turnouts are pathetic. I will not deny that I lamented my job and it's true that I have always been ranting to people all these while, counting down to the number of training left to my step ...

Batam, Turi beach Resort 2D1N review. 30-31st Dec 2014.

Image
As my token of appreciation to thank the long lists of blog reviews I came across before my own Batam trip, which presumedly had helped to make my journey easier, I was aspired to take tons of photos and come back with the most comprehensive guide to Turi beach resort kekeke. So long story short. Tan and me purchased 2 Groupon deal @ $99 each. Excluding a ferry terminal fee of $23 per pax ( May varies a little depending on the terminal you choose.) The deal is likely to be available all year round so if one website indicates it's sold out, can always try to find on other deals webpages. Henceforth, after a few E-mails to and fro to confirm our arrival date and time, the journey begins.  You can take bus 35 to the ferry terminal from Tenah merah Mrt, it's just 4 stops away. We scheduled the ferry at 10am, proceed to Batamfast ( our ferry carrier ) to obtain the Boarding passes for both to and fro trip, Check-in was fast despite us reaching at 9.15am. A very s...
